BIRMINGHAM — A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Birmingham on Monday, July 25, at approximately 8:45 p.m.
“Officers arrived on the scene and observed an Audi SUV parked alongside the roadway with a door open,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “Officers approached the vehicle and observed the driver of the vehicle unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.”
The incident occurred in the 700 block of 6th Avenue West in Birmingham. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Thomas dead.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was reported stolen out of Shelby County,” Fitzgerald said. “Multiple rounds were fired upwards of 50-60, some from fully automatic weapons.”
Currently, there is no one in custody.
