CLAY — A Clay woman has passed away after battling cancer for nearly three years.

Tiffanie Morton, also known as Tiff, was diagnosed with cancer in my lower digestive tract in October of 2019. According to a post on the #TeamTiff Facebook Page, she fought hard until the end. Morton passed away on July 28, 2022.
“She was such a warrior and fought so hard to stay as long as she could. We were able to keep her as comfortable as possible at home, and she passed at home in her bed surrounded by her loved ones. To say we will all miss her is such an understatement,” Caregiver, Ashley Szalankiewicz, stated on the #TeamTiff Facebook Page.
In a previous interview with the Trussville Tribune, Morton said she had been suffering from symptoms for two years prior to her diagnosis in 2019. She experienced digestive problems that wouldn’t stop, no matter what she did.

Less than a month after her 29th birthday, Morton found out her life was changing.
Several doctors and specialists at UAB Hospital began to work to find out all they could about Morton’s condition. They discovered the cancer was at stage 3 and that it had already started to spread.
In April 2022, Morton was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was sent home with hospice at the first part of June.
Morton’s family and friends are in the process of making funeral arrangements. After continued love and support from their community, they have kept the public updated via Facebook.
“Any help that can be given to the family is appreciated more than you know,” the GoFundMe organized by Fallon Avery states.
The GoFundMe page has already raised $6,525 of its $7,500 goal.
