From The Tribune staff reports
MOODY — Moody Elementary School’s sensory garden was unveiled on Thursday, July 14, and Moody Middle School (MMS) announce a new principal. The Trussville Tribune put together a video addressing the new changes.
Imagine the peace of sitting on a garden bench next to a gnome, reading a book while listening to wind chimes and a water fountain. Knowing that learning takes place all around, Moody Elementary looked for a way where learning can take place through all the senses in a peaceful environment.
All five senses are engaged in the garden. Some examples are soft and prickly plants, water elements and wind chimes, soothing smells, an array of colorful flowers, tasteful fruits, vegetables, and cooking herbs. Once students return to school, they will be given a rock to paint to add their own individual addition to the garden.
Many people know Jaime Giangrosso because she was a popular PE teacher with the Trussville School System but has accomplished her goal of working in an administration in St. Clair County. We talked to Giangrosso about her move to MMS.
