ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a juvenile in connection with what law enforcement characterized as “a possible threat of violence made to the Ashville High School.”
“The St. Clair County Criminal Investigation Division began an immediate investigation into these threats,” Sheriff Billy J. Murray stated. “Investigators notified the St. Clair County Board of Education of their findings and swiftly took into custody one male juvenile.”
The suspect has been transported to the Coosa Valley Detention Center, where he currently remains in custody.
“The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and St. Clair County Board of Education takes any threat against our schools, faculty, or students extremely serious and will work closely together to ensure the safety of everyone,” Murray stated. “Any threatening or violent behavior will not be tolerated.”
