FAIRFIELD — An unidentified adult was found dead after a Fairfield fire on Sunday, August 28, at approximately 3:25 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Fairfield Fire Department and Birmingham Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 4000 block of Terrace G in Fairfield.
Upon extinguishing the fire, the decedent was discovered inside the residence.
The Alabama State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
