TRUSSVILLE — In partnership with UAB Arts in Medicine, the Beauty for Ashes Recovery Conference will be held at the Trussville Civic Center on Saturday, September 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Beauty for Ashes Recovery Conference was created by New Awakening Recovery Services, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in Birmingham, and the organization’s mission is to provide education, guidance, and support services to recovering women in a healthy, sober living environment and to offer community referral services to any individual seeking help with their substance use disorder.
The focus is to recognize and celebrate the successes of individuals who have already achieved long-term recovery, empower, inspire, and motivate those in early recovery, and provide resources for those struggling with addiction and other related stressors.
There are expected to be 80 women in attendance and will include drug court participants, women recovering from substance abuse and homelessness, individuals in early/long-term recovery, community members, service providers, faith leaders, and professional subject matter experts.
