BIRMINGHAM — The killings in Birmingham continues at a torrid pace after police responded to a person shot on Monday night. The incident was the second homicide of the day, the seventh in the last four days in the city.
Officers were called to the scene of a homicide at the 200 block of 3rd Ave. Southwest at about 7 p.m., Birmingham Police Sgt. Monica Law said.
“Just before 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of MLK Drive,” Law said. “Upon arrival, they encountered citizens who stated that an adult female suffering gunshot wounds was transported to Princeton Hospital by personal vehicle.”
Shortly after her arrival at the hospital, she was pronounced deceased. Officer located shell casings in the 200 block of 3rd Ave. Southwest, Law said.
There are no suspects in the case, which remains under investigation by Birmingham police.
