SHELBY COUNTY —Another arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a Leeds teen that occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at approximately 6:15 p.m.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Kelvarius Imarion Dickerson, 18, of Goodwater, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 16, for the murder of 16-year-old Cameron Paul Daffron.
Dickerson was arrested with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. He has bonds totaling $280,000 and is currently held in the Shelby County Jail. He is the third person to be charged in this case.

Dickerson’s arrest follows the arrest of two juveniles that were both formally charged as adults with one count of murder and one count of Attempted Murder on Sept. 2, 2022. Current Alabama law prohibits the release of additional identifying information on the juvenile suspects.

Daffron was found suffering from a gunshot wound on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at approximately 6:15 p.m.
“Shelby County 911 received a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound in the 400 block of Alexander Road, located in unincorporated Shelby County near the City of Leeds,” Shelby County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release. “Deputies and medical personnel responded and attempted to provide lifesaving measures, but their efforts were unsuccessful.”
