TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools (TCS) Board of Education (BOE) will hold a Special Called Board Meeting Friday, September 30, at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room of Central Office.
The Executive Session listed on the agenda is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:05 a.m. and could last an estimated time of one to one and a half hours. Please note these are approximate times.
Following the Executive Session, there will be a discussion on system communication and safety protocols, followed by public comments. A comment time will be listed on the agenda with a time limit of 3 minutes per delegation speaking.
Those wishing to comment may sign in to speak on forms provided in the Central Office Lobby.
According to TCS BOE, the purpose of the meeting will be to renew and approve facility bids, approve an employment of an instructional assistant and hold an executive session. The meeting will conclude with a discussion on communication and safety protocols.
The called meeting follows a City Council meeting on Tuesday when citizens packed council chambers to share concerns with school leadership. Mayor Buddy Choat assured those in attendance that they would have an opportunity to address the TCS BOE with their concerns. School board meetings routinely allow for public comment.
The reason for the executive session was not mentioned on the meeting announcement. By law, the legal reason must be given by the BOE before entering into the private portion of the meeting.
The meeting will be streamed live on The Trussville Tribune Facebook page and on TrussvilleTribune.com/Trib-TV.
Additionally, the meeting will be live-streamed on the TCS YouTube channel. A link to the live stream will be posted on the TCS website (www.trussvillecityschools.com) at 7:45 a.m. September 30, 2022.
The meeting is open to the public.
