TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Schools (TCS) Board of Education (BOE) will hold a called board meeting Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at 5 p.m. in the Board Room of the Central Office for the purpose of discussing and approval of an interim superintendent.
This will be the only item on the agenda.
This called meeting follows after TCS Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill was placed on a 60-day paid leave of absence by the Board on Friday, Sept. 30, during a special called meeting. Neill was not present at the meeting.
Neill does not have access to email or the building, and she would have no daily duties.
Neill was sent on leave after the recent threats that occurred at Hewitt-Trussville High School (HTHS).
The Trussville Police Department (TPD) was investigating an apparent terroristic threat that was made on Friday, Sept. 16, when they were notified that, last school year, the same student had created a “death notebook” containing 37 names.
A parent source said that five students whose names were written in the book had specific methods of their death. The parent said that one of the methods was “shot by an AK-47.”
Rush said that the student responsible for the “death notebook” created it based on the show “Death Note,” where a character discovers a book that, if someone’s name is written in it while the writer imagines that person’s face, he or she will die.
