BIRMINGHAM – A Birmingham man died after a reported assault, which took place at the 1900 block of 28th Street Ensley on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:29 a.m. The Birmingham Police Department responded to the incident.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Kenneth Dewayne Maddox Jr., 35, succumbed to his injuries less than an hour later at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.
“The decedent sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said. “The death is being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department as a homicide.”
