ST. CLAIR COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Springville man on Monday, Oct. 17, at approximately 4:38 p.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Jos E. Hoehn Jr., 86, was fatally injured when the 2020 Kia Soul in which he was a passenger was struck by a 2013 Dodge Avenger driven by Saibri Ross, 19, of Hoover.
Ross was transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Kia, Mary Hoehn, 84, of Springville, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near the 164-mile marker, approximately three miles west of Springville, in St. Clair County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
