TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce announces Hewitt-Trussville standouts Kenleigh Cahalan and Riley Quick as the Grand Marshals of the 2022 Trussville Christmas Parade. This past June, Cahalan was named Miss Softball, and Quick was named Mr. Baseball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, marking the first time in state history that both titles were won by student-athletes from the same school in the same year.
Cahalan is a Hewitt-Trussville senior; Quick is a freshman at the University of Alabama.
Quick, a two-sport athlete in high school chose baseball over football for his college career.
“We’re thrilled to have Kenleigh and Riley serve as our grand marshals,” said June Mathews, Executive Director of the Trussville Chamber. “This has been a memorable year for them, and we hope leading the Christmas parade will be a fun way to cap it off.”
Scheduled for December 10 at 3:00 p.m., this year’s parade carries the theme “Candyland Christmas.”
Float Competition prizes will be awarded for Best Interpretation of Theme, Most Original, Most Innovative, and Best Overall. A prize will also be awarded to the Best Walking Group.
The parade will line up on Cherokee Drive near Cahaba Elementary and proceed down Parkway Drive to Main Street, through downtown Trussville to Chalkville Road then north to Oak Street.
Individuals and groups planning to participate in the parade should register online at www.trussvillechamber.com. The fee per parade entry is $25.
