CLAY — The Jefferson County Board of Education reported that an incident that occurred at Clay-Chalkville Middle School this morning was not a threat.
According to the Jefferson County Board of Education, a parent visitor came on campus this morning without going to the office.
“He was immediately redirected by a teacher and administrators to the front office,” the release stated. “Some individuals overreacted and started spreading rumors that were false. There was never a gun on campus. There was not any type of physical confrontation. An SRO responded within minutes of the first interaction with the parent. As you can imagine, rumors spread quickly, so the principal has put out a phone message to all parents explaining the situation and letting them know that there is no threat to Clay-Chalkville Middle School. The school day is continuing as normal.”
The story will be updated when more information is available.
