BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is conducting a homicide investigation that occurred on Tuesday, November 15, at approximately 1 p.m.
South Precinct officers arrived on the scene when they observed Carpenter lying unresponsive in an alleyway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was outside of a vehicle when he was approached by at least two suspects who fired shots at him,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated. “The victim was struck by gunfire. The suspects fled the scene.”
This is Birmingham’s 120th murder investigation of 2022, with eight justifiable death investigations.
