BIRMINGHAM — Three people were rescued from a structure fire that claimed the life of a 72-year-old female on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 2:55 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Shelia Daniel Selma, 72, of Birmingham, was killed in a fire in the 1300 block of Avenue H Ensley in Birmingham.
Selma was transported to Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
“Birmingham Fire personnel rescued three individuals from within the structure and transported them to area hospitals for treatment,” Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated. “The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by the Birmingham Fire Marshall’s Office.”
