BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at approximately 1:55 p.m.
According to the BPD, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on a shot spotter notification of multiple shots fired in the area simultaneously; citizens called about shots fired.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who advised a teenage relative had been shot and transported to Children’s Hospital by private vehicle,” Sergeant Monica Law stated. “An officer checked the status of the victim at Children’s Hospital and was advised the victim was in stable condition.”
Currently, there are no suspects in custody.
