BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in a homicide investigation that occurred on Friday, July 8, 2022, at approximately 6:07 p.m.
According to the BPD, South Precinct officers were dispatched to Center Street and 4th Avenue Southwest on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed Kiara Holcomb suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived to the scene and pronounced Holcomb dead.

“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was leaving a residence, and a masked gunman approached her vehicle and fired multiple rounds, fatally wounding the victim,” Sergeant Monica Law stated. “Detectives believe the victim was targeted.”
Currently, there is no one in custody.
