BLOUNT COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Cleveland man on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Mark W. Green, 64, was fatally injured when the 1999 Ford F-150 that he was driving collided head-on with a 2007 Ford F-150 driven by Luis Venegas, 44, of Remlap.
Green was pronounced deceased at the scene. Venegas was transported to Ascension St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital for treatment. Neither driver was using a seat belt.
The crash occurred on Alabama 75 near the 27-mile marker, approximately three miles south of Oneonta, in Blount County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
