BIRMINGHAM — A Birmingham City Jail inmate who was found dead in their cell during a routine check on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2:50 p.m. has been identified.
“A jail nurse was immediately called to the cell and attempted to resuscitate the inmate while awaiting Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service,” Sergeant Monica Law stated in a previous press release.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue was unable to revive the inmate, and she was pronounced dead at 3:17 p.m.
“An autopsy has been performed with no evidence of trauma or foul play found, but the cause of death has not yet been determined pending additional laboratory analysis,” Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated.
Kimberly had been housed at the Birmingham City Jail since Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, for driving under the influence and traffic warrants.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrouding the death.
