BIRMINGHAM — An undetermined number of cell phones were stolen from an Apple Store in Birmingham on Friday, Jan. 13, at around 10:30 a.m.
“Officers arrived on the scene when they learned at least three males entered the store with masks on and proceeded to break into a table holding cell phones inside of the store,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated. “The suspects stole an undetermined number of cell phones before fleeing the scene in a ‘dark-colored SUV.'”
There are no suspects in custody at this time.
Fitzgerald stated the store was open, and customers were inside the store.
“Currently, we have no reports of any injuries to any customers, nor do we have any reports that the males were armed or used any violence to accomplish the theft,” Fitzgerald stated. “Our responding officer notified the Apple Store in Huntsville for their safety.”
Fitzgerald stated that Apple phones not purchased will not work once they have been taken from the stores.
