BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the female victim who was found shot after her vehicle crashed into an apartment building and caught fire on Friday, Jan. 13, around 11 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Jasmine Clevette Price, 33, of Birmingham, sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault in the 800 block of 1st Street West in Birmingham.

Birmingham North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 800 block of First Street West, a report of shots being fired in the area.
“Officers arrived on the scene where they observed an SUV that had collided into an apartment complex building,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated in a press release. “While officers were on the scene, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.”
Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames.
“BFR personnel discovered an adult female victim unresponsive inside of the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot; she was pronounced deceased,” Fitzgerald stated.
Currently, there are no suspects in custody.
“The preliminary investigation has revealed that multiple shots were fired in and around the 800 block of First Street West,” Fitzgerald stated. “At this time, it is unknown if the victim was caught in the crossfire or targeted.”
