BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department responded to a reported assault at 10:20 p.m. last night, at the 100 block of 9th Avenue West.
Upon arrival, they found 24-year-old Corieonna Shantrice Hines, who had been shot. Hines was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m.
“The decedent sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault,” Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said. “The death is being investigated as a homicide.”
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting the investigation into Hines’ death.
