TRUSSVILLE — According the Hewitt-Trussville High School principal and Trussville police, a student faces disciplinary action after bringing a knife to school.
“Today at HTHS a student committed a Student Code of Conduct violation by bringing a weapon (knife) into the building,” Principal Joy Young said in an email to parents. “The incident is currently being investigated by the school administration and the school’s SRO. As a result of this infraction, the student has been removed from the campus.”
Lt. Clint Riner said a school employee observed a pocket clipped in a student’s pocket and the student was taken to the office.
“The pocket knife was removed from the student by school administrators and school resource officers without incident,” Riner said. “The student was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.”
