IRONDALE — Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. will host Irondale’s 2nd Annual Young Entrepreneurs Day on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The event will take place from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Shades Valley High School gymnasium. More than 20 young vendors, ages 7-20, have already signed up to participate in the event. The deadline to register to participate is Feb. 20, 2023, and the application may be found online at www.CityofIrondaleAL.gov. Mayor Stewart will award Entrepreneurial Scholarships to the top three businesses in each of three age divisions, with award amounts ranging from $100 to $500.
Members of the public are invited to attend the event and support Irondale’s youngest small business owners by purchasing art, jewelry, custom apparel, baked goods, beauty products, and more. Some vendors will also be showcasing and booking appointments for photography, DJ, and other services.
“More than 25 young business owners participated in our first Irondale Young Entrepreneurs Day, and we are excited to continue growing the program this year,” stated Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. “We believe this is event is not only a learning opportunity, but a ‘micro’ economic development agent because we’re nurturing and investing in small businesses right here in our community.”
Last year, Young Entrepreneurs Day participants were also booked as featured vendors at several other city sponsored events.
