TRUSSVILLE – Trussville Police School Resource Officers responded to two separate incidents on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the Hewitt-Trussville High School Cafeteria.

“Both incidents involved students fighting with each other,” Lt. Clint Riner with the Trussville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division said. “Each fight was stopped by school personnel and the SROs were notified immediately. The students involved were checked for injury and parents were contacted. The students will face disciplinary action through the Trussville City School System.”
The Trussville Tribune received anonymous video footage from both incidents. While the videos will not be released at this time, one video appears to show a girl repeatedly punching another girl, while the other shows a boy repeatedly punching another boy who was covering his head.
Trussville City Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Frank Costanzo made the following statement to the Tribune:
“During lunch today, two separate altercations occurred among students at Hewitt-Trussville High School,” Costanzo said. “The administration conducted a thorough investigation. Each student involved will be disciplined according to the Student Code of Conduct.
“Students involved in any altercation will suffer severe consequences as contained in the Student Code of Conduct.”
