TRUSSVILLE — Trussville To Go (T2GO) has announced that the company will be providing a $5,000 scholarship to one junior or senior within the T2GO delivery area. This year the amount has doubled as they give away their fifth scholarship.
Students at Trussville, Huffman, Clay and Pinson, as well as those in homeschool programs, can download the application and submit their essay by April 16, 2022. Applications can be downloaded at: www.t2goscholarships.com.
Applicants for the scholarship must compose an essay with no more than 2,500 words.
T2GO is a local restaurant delivery company servicing the greater Trussville area. Ben and Amanda Short formed the T2GO scholarship to give back to the communities that have supported T2GO’s mission of delivering local meals.
There was a two-way tie in the scholarship’s first year, and Isabella Weyerman (Hewitt-Trussville) and Marques McKinney (Clay-Chalkville) won a T2GO scholarship. Abby Weems (Hewitt-Trussville) was awarded the 2021 T2GO scholarship while 2022 was won by Stella Jackson.
“Amanda and I understand that you have options when it comes to restaurant delivery and we will continue to do all we can to earn the community’s business,” Short said. “This community supporting local has allowed us to directly donate over $60,000 back into our community in the form of scholarships, community events, teacher appreciation, civic organizations, youth sports, TCSF, and so much more. This year we are excited to award our fifth T2GO scholarship, with former recipients coming from HTHS and Clay-Chalkville High School. With this being our fifth winner, we decided to make this year’s scholarship worth $5,000, and rather than the more serious essay topics, we’ve opted to see how students tackle these more humorous essay topics.”
This year’s topic(s):
- What would happen if alligators took over the world?
- Convince us why you should eat dessert first.
- Mistakes our parents made (but now it’s too late).
