BIRMINGHAM – A man died Friday, March 10, after being struck by a vehicle while walking on West Boulevard at 87th Street North in Birmingham.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Bryan Gary Wood, 41, of Birmingham, was walking on the shoulder of the roadway on West Boulevard when struck by a motor vehicle that was attempting to pass another vehicle in a curve.
“The vehicle that struck the decedent crashed into a nearby residence and the two occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot,” Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said.
The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department.
