TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt Trussville Mountain Bike team kicked off the official race season last Saturday with the Alabama Cycling Association’s (ACA) race 1 at Tannehill State Park.
The High School Team finished 2nd overall in the Division 1 category, and the Middle School Team won 1st Place overall. This is the first time the middle school award has ever been given.
In addition to overall team awards, 10 Hewitt Trussville riders finished in the top 5 in their races, earning podium recognition. 14 Hewitt Trussville riders finished in the top 10.
Also, Sophomore Conrad Jones and 6th grader Lenwood Jones received special recognition for being season racing points leaders.

The HT team also had many riders who finished much higher than their original start positions, a challenge on the tight singletrack trails of Tannehill.

Race 2 takes place at Munny Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa the weekend of March 25 and 26.
