JEFFERSON COUNTY– A deadly shooting in Jefferson County has resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old woman, according to Lt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:22 p.m., Friday, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of Creek Lane NE on reports of a female suffering from a gunshot wound.
“Medical personnel on scene attempted life saving measures, but were unable to revive her,” Money said.
On Saturday, Money announced that investigators had made an arrest in the shooting.
“According to reports, 25-year-old, Carli Rae Dunlap and the victim were involved in an altercation, when Dunlap fired a shot, killing the victim,”Money said. “Dunlap has been charged with murder and placed in the Jefferson County Jail.”
She currently has no bond on her charge.
Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
