JEFFERSON COUNTY — Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Brewster Road on Saturday.
“At approximately 5:30 p.m. today, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of Brewster Road in Eastern Jefferson County to investigate a pedestrian who had been struck while crossing the road,” Money said is a statement released Saturday night. “The 42-year-old female was transported to UAB Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.”
Money said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
