BIRMINGHAM – A Birmingham girl has died after she was found unresponsive inside of a hotel pool on Monday.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s office has identified the girl as Irmani Ray, 3, of Birmingham.
The drowning happened at 10 p.m. Monday at Drury Inn and Suites in Birmingham. She was swimming with family when the incident occurred, said Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates.
Irmani was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital at 10:42 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding her death are still being investigated by the Birmingham police department.
