CENTER POINT – A Center Point man was shot and killed in the late hours of Wednesday night, May 31.
At around 9:18 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Tupelo Way in Center Point on the report of a person shot. Deputies arrived on scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim was later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office as Quindell Rhodes, 24, of Birmingham.
Detectives are still working to establish a motive and developing leads in this case.
