BIRMINGHAM — A woman was killed in a late-night hit and run in Birmingham on Tuesday, July 4.
The incident occurred in the 1500 block of 3 Avenue West. The victim, Tyesa Shawtae Smith, 42, of Birmingham, was crossing the street at 11:44 p.m. when they were hit by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene immediately after.
She was pronounced dead at 11:57 p.m.
Birmingham police are investigating the incident.
