LEEDS — Leeds man arrested after search warrant reveals illegal gambling operation on Wednesday, July 20.
Detectives with O.S.U., along with Leeds SWAT, conducted a search warrant in the 7100 block of Elliott Lane to continue pursuing an illegal gambling investigation. During the search, detectives located five illegal gambling machines, U.S. currency, and two handguns. Thomas Jeffery Bynum, 56, of Leeds was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of a gambling device and one count of promoting gambling.
“It is amazing that a person would bring and set up this type of establishment in such a great neighborhood,” said Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin. “I appreciate the officers outstanding work in this operation and the many other operations they have been conducted on a daily basis. We have a great team of law enforcement officers who are working to make Leeds a safe city to live, visit or work. Anyone with information on criminal activity are encouraged to contact our department and we appreciate the community’s assistance.”
