BIRMINGHAM — Human skeletal remains found in a field in Birmingham on Thursday, Sept. 28 have been identified.
Just before 2 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue after a member of the community discovered a body and called 911. Officers arrived on the scene to the 500 block of 16th Street Southwest where they found a decomposed body in a field near the alleyway.
The victim has been identified using dental records as Darrius Dewayne Brown, 33, of Birmingham.
After being examined by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, it has been determined that Brown died from a gunshot wound.
