BIRMINGHAM — Human skeletal remains were recovered from a grave behind a residential property in Birmingham on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
The remains were found at 1400 block of Brighton Road at 5:20 p.m. on Monday. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has custody of the remains. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates described the grave the skeleton was found in as ‘clandestine.’
The coroner’s office will be performing an examination today to begin the process of positively identifying the remains and determining the cause and manner of death.
