TRUSSVILLE – Cahaba Elementary held a drive-through parade honoring local veterans on Thursday, Nov. 9.
The half-hour event featured elementary school students lining the street to show appreciation to veterans from in and around the Trussville area. The drive-through event was conceived as a unique way for students to honor local veterans with mobility issues.
Students from all grade levels held signs and sung patriotic songs, including the official songs for each branch of the military. Students from the school’s show choir, SHINE, participated. Participating veterans were given tokens of appreciation from students.
