BLOUNT COUNTY — A Hayden woman was killed in a two vehicle crash at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, according to Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Christina M. Bass, 45, of Hayden was fatally injured when the 2006 Pontiac Vibe that she was driving collided head-on with the 2014 Nissan Murano,” O’Neal said.
A 72-year-old Altoona woman was driving the Nissan.
“Bass was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash,” O’Neal said.
The female driver of the Nissan and a female passenger, also of Altoona, were both transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 75, approximately four miles north of Oneonta, in Blount County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
