JEFFERSON COUNTY — After conducting a thorough investigation, detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in a shooting incident outside of Hueytown High School, according to Lt. Joni Money of JCSO.
After presenting evidence to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in Bessemer, warrants were issued against 30-year-old Eunethia Arnette Shackleford.
“Shackleford is charged with attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds. She is being held at the Jefferson County Jail in Bessemer on a $67,500.00 bond,” Money said.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy working at a Hueytown High School basketball game advised that shots had been fired outside of that location, according to Money.
“According to witnesses, a group of juveniles were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the school when adult family members arrived on scene and intervened,” Money said in a statement on Friday.
Money said one of the family members fired shots in the air and fled the scene with some of the involved juveniles.
Jefferson County deputies, along with officers from Hueytown Police Department responded to the scene and dispersed the patrons.
