BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–The Birmingham Police Department reported on Monday that it made four more arrests over the weekend as part of Operation Knight Rider, according to BPD Sgt. LaQuitta Wade.
Operation Knight Rider was launched by the department in April in response to a recent uptick in street racing activity.
Those arrested include Carlos Alfaro of Birmingham, Reuben Chaney of Birmingham, Lafayette Hodges III of Birmingham, and Larry Johnson, Jr. of Hueytown.
Alfaro, 23, was charged with exhibition driving, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Chaney, 41, was charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied building.
Hodges, 25, was charged with a felony attempt to elude and receiving stolen property in the first degree.
Two handguns were also seized from Hodges.
Johnson, 23, was charged with second degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two stolen vehicles–a 2021 Dodge Challenger and a 2019 Dodge Charger–were impounded.
A 1998 GMC Sierra was also impounded.
According to the BPD, Operation Knight Rider will continue through upcoming months.
