BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–Cyclists with the Birmingham Bicycle Club will join other riders from across the country in the annual Ride of Silence next Wednesday, May 15, to silently honor bicyclists killed or injured on public roads.
The club said the local event has grown in recent years and they expect hundreds of cyclists to participate.
It will be held next Wednesday at 7 p.m. starting at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and will go throughout the city of Birmingham, escorted by Birmingham Police.
The club has also invited residents, churches, and businesses along the route to come out and give their respects.
