PIKE COUNTY–A Louisville man died after his car crashed into a traffic sign and overturned into a river Thursday morning, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney.
At approximately 6:55 a.m., the 200 Honda CR-V driven by James Otis McCray left the Alabama 130 roadway, struck a posted traffic sign, overturned, and went into a river.
McCray, 66, was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred approximately six miles east of Banks city limits, in Pike County.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
