ST. CLAIR COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:53 a.m. Sunday, June 23, has claimed the life of an Odenville woman, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Jennefer L. Arellano-Maldonado, 19, was fatally injured when the 2019 BMW X5 that she was driving left the roadway, struck a brick wall and then caught fire,” Bailey said. “Arellano-Maldonado was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Bailey said Arellano-Maldonado was attempting to elude a Riverdale police officer at the time of crash, which occurred on Depot Street near Lakeview Circle, within the Riverside city limits, in St. Clair County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
