RANDOLPH COUNTY — A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:07 p.m. Thursday, July 25, has claimed the life of an Anniston woman and a 10-year-old child, according to Senior Trooper Vu Quang of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Serinity N. Richmond, 21, was fatally injured when the 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5 she was driving was struck by the 2017 Ram 1500 driven by Tyson D. McCarthy, 20, of Pell City,” Quang said. “Richmond was pronounced deceased at the scene. McCarthy was seriously injured and airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. for treatment.”
Quang said the 10-year-old passenger in the Nissan Altima was also seriously injured and airlifted to an area hospital where the juvenile succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 200 mile marker, approximately 10 miles north of Wedowee, in Randolph County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
