BIRMINGHAM — An argument and shooting between two adult males left a 12-year-old wounded with non-life threatening injuries, according to Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
“At around 6:25 p.m., west precinct officers were dispatched to a person shot call in the 4900 block of Avenue Q,” Fitzgerald said.
Responding officers located the 12-year-old victim inside a residence in the 1600 block of 49th Street in Ensley.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the child to Chidrens Hospital.
Fitzgerald said the investigation indicates two adult males got into a verbal altercation that escalated into a shootout between the adult males. One of the adult males is the home owner and the other adult male was an acquaintance. The only person injured was the 12-year-old.
