SHELBY COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug.4, has claimed the life of an Elmore woman, according to Corporal Reginal M. King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Shahla J. Noori, 32, was fatally injured when the 2004 Toyota Corolla she was driving struck the rear of the 2012 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Sascha R. Glassford, 40, of Indian Springs,” King said. “Noori was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 233 mile marker, approximately five miles north of Calera, in Shelby County.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
