JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala.–A single-vehicle fire involving a commercial vehicle has closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 22 through Jefferson County, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Vu Quang.
The fire began at approximately 3:34 p.m. and has closed the eastbound lanes of I-22 at the 81 mile marker in northwest Jefferson County near Quinton.
The road is currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time.
Troopers with’s ALEA Highway Patrol Division are on the scene.

Update: The left lane and center lane of I-22 eastbound is now open. The right lane is still currently blocked.
