BIRMINGHAM — According to the Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department, detectives have obtained an arrest warrant in the homicide investigation of Kameron Connell. He was shot and killed on Monday, July 1, 2024,in the 7700 block of 1st Avenue South.
The suspect has been identified as Edrick Hagler, 31, of Center Point.
“On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office,” Fitzgerald said. “After a review of the case information, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for murder on Edrick Hagler.”
Fitzgerald said BPD Crime Reduction Team detectives took Edrick Hagler into custody on Thursday.
Hagler is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
