LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala.–A Decatur man died Tuesday morning after his car overturned in a ditch along U.S. 31, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey.
At approximately 3:04 a.m., Curtis L. Pickett, 37, was fatally injured when the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving left the roadway, struck a road sign, a ditch, and overturned.
Pickett was reportedly not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was ejected.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near Garrett Road, approximately five miles north of Decatur.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
